Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I have a DLine Di 624 Wireless router at home. It feeds one laptop and one desktop.

Everything works great except for disabling SSID Broadcast. When I disable it and apply the change it reverts right back to enabling the SSID Broadcast. I know disabling the SSID Broadcast isn't real protection but it makes me feel better when it's disabled. I also use MAC address filtering and WPA encryption so I'm relatively safe but the SSID thing is driving me crazy.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm using Super G without Turbo and the channel is autoselected.

Thanks again.

I don't think that SSID can be disabled; in my Dlink router setup I have it set to not broadcast, and I have set a custom SSID name for it, but to the best of my knowledge it cannot be totally disabled without breaking your connection. If I am wrong I am happy to be corrected!

I had upgraded the firmware to 2.75 beta. It wouldn't let me disable the SSID Broadcast so I reverted back to firmware 2.71 and everything is fine now. SSID Broadcast is disabled again.

Usually best to leave beta firmware’s etc. alone.
