Hi wavey.gif

I have a movie clip I can't view, from my home town website.

I have all the plugs in IrfanView, and I can view other movie I have, but this one I get an error...I don't know why I'm getting errors, from Quick Time.

Jim, I tried to find your pinned articles about IrfanView, to see if I can get some information from there, but I can't find them.

Those files (.mov) are normally played in QuickTime, but rather than installing the regular hoggish QuickTime, try using the QuickTime Alternative instead. There's also a Real Player Alternative, too.

That did it Jim, it worked biggrin.gif

I downloaded Quick Time Alternative.

Now, why wouldn't it work before?? I had the Quick Time plugins in IrfanView, and IrfanView played it this time. unsure.gif

Well anyway, Thanks a bunch Jim biggrin.gif

The Alternative program probably updated the plugins to later versions. Perhaps that was needed for this particular file. Anyway, glad it's sorted out. remybussi.gif

Now if I can get Dashie all sorted out, I'll be all set to do my backups. biggrin.gif

I've updated everything you told me, don't know what else to update. keybrd.gif

Does it only happen with Dashie's avatar on this site, or with other flash stuff? I can't think of anything else, other than video drivers. By now, I'm sure you have the latest version of those.

Just Dashes' Jim, I was going to check Interceptors' avatar, but he had changed it. I also will get some boxes with the red Xs in them in a couple sites, but I would get other images on the same page. unsure.gif

I think, tomorrow, I'll do a couple virus scan, then do a HJT, and see if Ed, or Angus can see anything in there, and if not, I'll do the back up, that's if I get it in the mail tomorrow.

Then maybe later on, things will work them self out. smile.gif

Thanks Jim, for your help. hug.gif

For sure, don't let a minor glitch like Dashie - er... Dashie's avatar - keep you from making a backup ASAP while the system is running well. A major glitch could put you in trouble at any time, and that backup is welcome insurance.

That's what I'll do, as soon as I get the CD. biggrin.gif
