Hello and Happy Holidays,
I'm looking for a wireless router. Newegg has the D-Link DI 524 ($21) and 624 ($35) after rebate and they also have Linksys WRT54G ($40) and WRT54GS ($60).
I'm leaning towards the DI 524 because the price is so cheap and because the reviews seem to be as good as the more expensive Linksys units.
Does anyone have any opinions or knowledge they'd like to share. Thanks.

I have had nothing but good results with D-Link. Long as you get the 802.11 / 2.4 GHz platform, you will have plenty of power and performance for a small LAN. I have no doubts that Link Sys is just as good in quality but I have never purchased one.
D-LInk also has excellent tech support toll-free, and you rarely have to wait long.
There is only one thing that I noticed with two of my setups, and it is minor. The jack where the cable from the router to the rear of your main incoming computer NIC must not be under any side pressure. After a few months, it began to lose connection occasionally because the weight of the cable was pulling to the side. All I did was take one extra long plastic cable tie and whip it around the router and cable jack to hold it tight in the socket. If you have it sitting on a flat surface normally you will not have this problem, but mine was underneath the desk on a shelf and the weight of the cable hanging off the jack eventually loosened the strength of the connector. As I said, very minor.

Thanks for the info. Ranchhand. I went with the D-Link DI 624 because from the user reviews I'd read it was as good as the Linksys and because CNET gave it an excellent rating and said it was faster than it's little brother the DI 524. Also the price was right, after rebate it's $35.
The DI 524 was $20 after rebate but CNET recommended the 624 so I figured for $15 why not.
