my wireless has been working fine for some time...until i installed norton system works....once that was installed on main computer....the wireless has stopped working....there was nothing else i installed alongside norton....

have there been issues like this before ..and is there a solution?

Norton shields blocks all unauthorized traffic to protect you against virus and spyware attacks if you let it use default settings. You must configure it properly to get your network (wireless or not) working again.

Norton system works may mess with your registry file if you don't know exactly what you are doing. If you fixed something using it, perform a system restore to a point just before.

I agree with the above...it was nothing but headaches for me. I took it back for a refund and the guy said lots of people had problems with it.

Sorry folks, but I don't agree... Norton is a big huge resource eater, but it does it work very well. It just need to be set properly.

The major problem is that some installs Norton thinking that it will solve anything on default mode, and this is not true.

I know a lot of people that uses it with no problems (although I never recommend it just for that). Norton is for skilled people, not for the normal customer.

Another big problem is that many people just download and installs stuff without any knowledge, because "some" has talk on a forum or in other place. When something goes wrong, they cry. There are people that never read a manual, and, here in Brazil, where people does not know English, it's a common issue... "I purchased Norton, the best AV in the world, now, I can't do anything..." I've heard that so much.

So, if you are unsure on how to use a tool, don't use it.
