Folks: Could someone tell me how to get rid of the annoying "Welcome to Windows" screen on log on requiring a password? (Windows Me). When I go to "Password Properties" menu in control panel, I only see a "user profiles" tab. On selecting of "all users of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings" and OK, the screen just goes away and I am back to square one. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks.

Is the password prompt for the local pc or network? If local pc->
The following works for win98 and will probably work for winME.
Search the drive for *.pwl and delete all that are found.
Reboot
When prompted for a password, don't enter anything. This basically sets the password to "blank."
