HTAStop is SPECIFICALLY for HTA extensions ONLY.
Noscript disables the entire Windows Scripting Host (WSH). (There have been reports that SOME NetScape users' will find that they have to keep disabling WSH with Noscript at each boot - I'M one of those reports). If you don't USE WSH for anything, this is fine (most people don't).

SS is much more flexible, configurable and useful than either of the other two programs - my one caveat here is that SS is an ever-evolving program, so I'm NOT going to promise you that it covers EVERYTHING in the way of script-borne bad-guys. Even its' configurabiltity can work against the user if he doesn't know what he's doing.

I much prefer ScripTrap - it covers the standard known bad-guy extensions and is not configurable as far as what extensions can be added. It also only has to be turned on ONCE, regardless of what browser you use. It also WORKS. Available here: http://keir.net/scriptrap.html .

You have GOT to read the 'Help' or 'FAQ's' portions of any of these programs if you use them.

Some of them (ScripTrap), specifically state that ALL OTHER SCRIPT CONTROL programs MUST be de-activated/REMOVED from your computer or problems could arise. (Note: This does NOT apply to your AV program!!!)
