Hi,

One day last week, I was no longer able to use either wirelessly connected computer on my network to connect to the wireless gateway at my home. I don't know what changed. I have spent hours trying to figure this problem out including downloading a Microsoft Patch (KB884020)I found recommened on the net. Both computers were working fine and the computers connected via a wired connection still work fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to SAF

This sometimes happens to me on a cabled network too... after trying all, including ipconfig /flushDNS the better results was doing a system restore back to a point just before the problem started. rolleyes.gif

On a wireless lan, it may be some neighborhood interference... in this case, it will work again as soon as the interference stops.

I found the problem... and it fits the "check the obvious" test... my router has an "uplink" button that had somehow gotten pushed in. When I released the button, the access point, which is connected via the uplink port, started working fine.

I'm embarassed to say how many hours I put into solving this problem... Now it's onto the next one!

Thanks for your quick resposne!
