Steve R Jones
Click on Start->Run and type: CMD

Once at a command prompt type: IPCONFIG. You'll see a screen like this:

C:\>ipconfig

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.221.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.221.xxx.xxx

Then you can type: [b]Ping <insert the ip address like 10.221.xxx.xxx> and hit enter.

And if you type IPCONFIG /ALL you will get complete information on other options in the ipconfig screen. Oh, and don't forget to ping the IP address of the other computer that you want to ping, don't accidentally tupe in the computer's ip address that you are using presently - you will be pinging yourself, not very helpful! lol.gif
