i have two pcs networked with linksys router and wireless card. i reformatted the main computer . i re-installed the software and drivers for the printer but i can't get the the second pc to print. i've run the network wizard on both pcs, chosen the shared files option, have the same workgroup name on both pcs, and basically have done everything i can think of and no printing from the 2nd pc.when i try to print a test page it just hangs up forever. when i hooked it up 2 yrs ago i didn't have any problem at all, and now i'm going on 2 days with no luck. i even uninstalled the printer on the main pc and reinstalled it startin over fresh. very frustrating.

Hi bobaraba, welcome to SAF

As a first thought, after you reformatted, have you loaded the motherboard and chipset drivers ? (the Windows generic ones may not work properly on all hardware)

Also, your second PC may need to have the printer drivers installed too, as it is probably trying to print on a shared printer using (and not finding) local drivers.

i used the printer software discs on the main pc and after i couldn't get the 2nd pc to share and print i used the discs on it also. drivers were downloaded on both pcs. i have no problem printing from the main pc, its the 2nd one that won't work. i've enabled sharing on both, run the network wizard, have the same workgroup name and all that. i've been through the process numerous times with no luck. whats frustrating, when i initially set the print sharing up 2 yrs ago it hooked up first time and i've had no problems until i reformatted. i have a good strong internet connection on both pcs through linksys wireless. the main is hard wired to cable with the router and the 2nd has the wireless card. i don't think my problem is there anyway.
