What is the quickest or easiest way to connect three computers or laptop to a wireless router. I want to be able to share files between the computers and one printer.
What will I need to do so that all of my 3 computer are on the network and I can see them and share files and one printer.
I tried the wizard wirless connection, I named my computers - Room A - attached is a brother all-in-one printer whic I wan to share with the other two computers. The other 2 computers are Room B and Room C -

How easy is it to have them all share each other and the printer. All of these computers are set in different rooms of the house. I'd like to be able to retrieve files from one cmputer to the other.

All 3 computers are connected wirelessly except for the one that has a printer. That one is connected straight cable to router.
I'm also thinking of installing another printer on the network.

Thanks!

Cheers !

Hi Rocko,

You must name the three computers on the same workgroup. Default used is MSHome, but I suggest you to use another name instead.

Next, the folders you want to work between one comp to another must be shared. On all machines, right-click on the folders you want to share and select "security and sharing" (or something like this, as my OS is in Brazilian Portuguese)

You can share the whole disk if you want, by right-clicking on C:\, or the CD/DVD reader, and so on...

Printer: On each machine that are not directly connected to the printer, go to control panel, printers and add printer. You will be prompted to select local or shared printer. Select shared and point to the proper machine name/path where the printer is connected.

Some printers will start to work with no problems, others may need to have the proper software installed on all the computers.

Post back if you need more information.
