I previously install a printer locally connected to a workstation. Since I have removed this printer from the workstation deleteing it from the printers window. This printer is still showing up on the other networked computers while browsing in network neighborhood. The workstation which was locally attached to the printer is running win98 second edition how do I rid the network of this printer or is the question how do I rid the win98 computer of this printer totally.

Thanks for any help!! sad.gif

You must remove it from the others computers too.

Take a look at your client Control Panel. keybrd.gif

The printer is not present in the control panel/printers window on the client computers but is present in the "browseing tree" when I go to add another computer through the add printer wizard on the client computers smiley- confused.gif

Hi megabyte417,

Interesting question eeeeek.gif
I searched and did not found anything about removing old network places, just a registry trick to avoid them to be added. (I want to get rid of some ghost network places addresses too biggrin.gif )

I am still searching, but I think we both will need to be patient and wait for some more skilled members to answer that.

While searching through the registry I found some instances of this printer maybe this will be the solution but I am a bit hesitant to remove just any thing I see references this printer there.

Maybe some good suggestions on some registry cleaners? But thats another question for another forum?

Thanks, Rob

This is very good: http://www.majorgeeks.com/RegCleaner_d460.html

Run it, go to <Tools/Registry cleanup/do them all>
After, go to <Select All> and click <Remove selected> at bottom right. biggrin.gif

Try clicking:

View > Refresh

at the printer window, or maybe select the printer and then tap the Delete key.
