I have no connection shown to my speakers or printer. I have tested them both on another printer, where they work fine. I have also, uninstalled the printer software and reinstalled -- and it still shows no connection between the computer and printer. In the sound control panel, it does not show the speakers being there... thus, no sound.

Both of these items happened at the same time. It is unclear to me what the problem. I also did a system restore from a week, and also 2 weeks, ago; in case there was a system change that occured. This did not help either. It makes me think it's not a system or software problem.

Could this be a harddrive problem? I am not sure....

I operate Windows XP. Any help is greatly appreciated.... smile.gif

Never had this issue before, but it's probably not a hard disk problem. Sounds more like corrupted chipset/mobo drivers or a problem with Windows itself to me...

You can try reloading motherboard/chipset drivers to see what happens. If this does not work, a repair install (on top install) of Windows may solve the problem.

Or you may wait for someone else advice rolleyes.gif
