Hello,

I had this problem a while ago with AdAware. Now I am having it with Spybot. I cannot load the updates on either of my computers. I decided to remove it in total.

Is there something better out there or should I try and re-load the program and run updates?

Hi Chrisjea,

Try uninstalling, rebooting, and re-installing again. Remember that Spybot S&D is now at version 1.4, so if you're stil using 1.3 now is a good time to lose that older version and install the new one.

To ensure a good removal, I always reboot after an uninstall (even if one is not required) so I know I'm installing from clean.

Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware are still both excellent free solutions, and wel worth having around smile.gif

I did it. Downloaded the program, searched and got 10 updates. Two still will not load. I will e-mail the people that run the thing or check for FAQs

Sometimes, databases from Spybot does not load (wrong checksum), or takes a long time to download. I use (on the download selection drop down) to pick them from EON (Australia mirror).

Some days ago, the sole update database I was able to download without errors was from see-cure #2.

"Wrong Checksum" is exactly what I keep getting. Usually for the English Language stuff. Next time a may try another mirror.

And BTW, if I may stray from this topic, thank you for all the help you give.
