I have an Acer Travemate 270 about 3 years old. Just recently horizontal lines appeared on the lower right of the LCD screen extending exactly to half width. They are generally pink and become more pronounced the longer the unit is on. some also follow the curser, but again only to half (right) screen width. The screen is still legible.

When a CRT monitor is connected and enabled the display is fine. A friend updated drivers and BIOS but no improvement. He initially suspected the video card but when the CRT worked OK this appears to be disproved.

Would appreciate any advice.
Ta Rod.

Hi op9, welcome to SAF

Sounds like your LCD screen is going to die... sad.gif
Big problem is that some LCD being defective may ruin other electronic parts.

Better take it to a repair shop.

It sounds like it might be your screen going, if it is I wouldn't replace it as there to costly to make it worth it.

Found this out. Maybe give it a ty.

Look at the post by TallCool1 and then if you look on the 3rd page someone with the same problem it fixed will quote what was done.

With the unit on, gently grasp the left and right edges of the display. Gently twist the display (no more than a few ounces of pressure) as though you are wringing out a towel. See if the display flashes, changes, etc. This may even fix the problem by "wiping" the contacts of dirt or oxidation.
