Hello,

Please move this if in the wrong forum

On both my computers, I get certain error messages. On one when one boots up and one when I use History Eraser.

Because I am lazy, I do not want to write the whole message. I try to do a CONTROL>PRINT SCREEN. It does not copy so I can paste it in a forum.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Chris

It's not CONTROL>PRINT SCREEN.
Print screen by its self will take the entire desktop as a screen shot.
ALT > PRINT SCREEN will just do the open window.
Once done paste it into like paint and save it.
If you don't want to resize the image (might make it to small to read anyway) to upload it in the show n tell section you can use http://www.imageshack.us/ to host it.

Hello Zenith,

Thank you. At the risk of questioning your advice, I am still confused. At work, when I desire to send someone a snapshot via e-mail, I use CONTROL>PRINT SCREEN

Is this something different?

Thanks,

Chris

Putting it another way:

1. Tapping the PrtScn key copies everything you see on the monitor.

2. Holding down the Alt key and then tapping the PrtScn copies only the active window (the window that has the blue title bar), not the entire screen you see on the monitor.

3. To paste whatever you copied into Paint or Irfanview or other graphic programs, or any program that will take what you copy, you can hold the Ctrl key down and tap the v key.

This is the default procedure for IBM compatible computers.

Ctrl +Print Screen on my computer captures the whole screen, as Print Screen does (no difference).
After hitting Ctrl +Print Screen or Alt +Print Screen or Print Screen, open your favorite image editor, select <File/New> and hit Ctrl +V to paste the clipboard content to the new image window.

To post it here, resize it to 500 pixels width, save it to your hard disk as .jpg or .gif (be sure it have 75 Kb max) and upload it (as add reply) on The Show n'tell > SAF photo Linking topic http://www.suggestafix.com/index.php?act=S...=ST&f=46&t=5912

Once uploaded, right-click on the posted image and select "properties". Select (highlight) the complete image path from the properties windows, hit Ctrl +C and close it.

Post your image on the topic you started by clicking on the [IMG] button and Ctrl +V in the address box. You are done.
