Do you think the power pack has failed again?
I thought the power pack had failed first time round so bought another one and put that in, but now that burning smell i had in the begining is back and every time i switch the comp on it gets
stronger
any ideas what it could be?

That doesn't sound to healthy. If it was the hdd I don't think it would last long so I doubt thats it if its been doing it for a while.
