I am planning on purchasing the ECS PF5 Extreme (1.0) and Pentium 4 640 (3.2 GHz) LGA 775 Retail Combo. You can find more info about the board at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135199.
My main reason for choosing this board is cause it supports Raid 0/1, supports the LGA 775, and has 2pcie 16x slots. I just have never really heard of ECS as a motherboard manufacturer and was wondering what you all had to say about it. For the price and what I want it to do i think I have found a great board, and just want eveyrone's opinion. is there anything better for this price? or more reliable? Also just to make sure, this board does support the CPU I want right?

thanx!

hi
ecs has another name which is elitegroup.
they make the cheaper motherboards.
they may be cheaper but are very very good.
i use the elitegroup p4vmm2 in my pc and my server.
i have yet to use a motherboard from ecs that uses the 775 socket.
i would say give them a go.
i certainly am not dissapointed.
try there website for further info on them.

I only bought an Elite ECS and built a unit with it once, and I had excellent results. It wasn't a powerhouse, but it was reasonably priced and ran (and still runs) perfectly. For budget-builds I would use an Elite again.
