Full Version: Laptop HDD in Desktop PC

I have a 2.5 inch HDD for a laptop computer, but , my laptop no longer works and i have taken out the hard drive. Is there any type of cable or adapter of some sort that would allow me to connect it to a desktop computer? at least temporarily so that i can get the data off of it? or am i just pretty much screwed out of all that data unless i find another laptop?

Hi cruizer888, welcome to SAF

There is no problem on hooking it as "slave" (remove any jumpers from it's back) on the second end of the desktop "master" HD cable or as Master on second IDE, using a simple adapter.
