Hi,
I came across an NEC Powermate[circa 2000]. I think it is a good little machine. The install/re is initiated by a rescue disk....install files are stored on a hidden partition...?
Is it possible to use fdisk and create a second drive[D:]? Anything I need to look out for, doing it this way[using fdisk], or can I partition using the rescue disk. Haven't come across this type of install setups before..

Thanks,

Chris

If you change the first hard disk's structure (ie; layout, partition sizes, etc) the restore disk probably won't work. It's designed to put everything back as it was when it left the factory. If you add a partition, it will see the change and probably won't run. You'd be better off adding a second hard disk ~after~ the reinstall is accomplished.

Do not reformat or change any partition on this hard disk. eeeeek.gif

danpenny's advice is the best way to add storage space to this computer.
