For some reason, my computer stopped going into standby mode. I get a message saying that a device driver for Communications Port Com1 is preventing machine from entering standby and may have to update the driver. Where do I find the driver?...and what's it called?

Hi Shiloh, welcome to SAF
Com port 1 is normally reserved to mouse... so, I suppose your APM control in BIOS is set to use the same IRQ...
If you are using Win ME/XP, try a system restore, if not, go to device manager and search for any conflict with devices using the same port/IRQ and delete it. Let Windows find it and attrib a new address.
