I've just fitted an AverTV digital TV card into my PC. AFter problems with a weak signal (now fixed with signal booster) I'm getting an excellent picture and good quality sound - but the sound is about 1 second delayed - any ideas on why - or what I could do to fix it.

PS - this is in the UK and using PAL - 1

PPS Task manager shows only a few minor background programmes running.

Kind regards

David

Hello David,

Video capture requires a powerful computer and minimally 512 MB of memory. I don't know what your setup is, but if you have under a 1.6 MGz CPU, you may have problems. Also if your harddrive is slow, that could also be a cause.

Good discussion of that problem Here.

Yep, ranchhand pointed it. My son was having the same thing with DVD movies, and when he upgraded the memory, it never happenned again.

Also, we had this issue with a DVD player not connected to a computer... it was replaced by the vendor and now works fine.

Thanks Both

I suspect I am just under equipped !!

128K RAM is all I have - although the "box" does say it is enough - although 256 "recommended"

In terms of CPU speed - silly question I know - but where via Windows can I get feedback on the speed of the CPU fitted ? I know it flashes up during boot up - but never long enough for me to find it before the screen changes !!

I thinks it's 600Mhz but can't be sure.

Kind regards

David

Yep. 128 MB is not enough.

To know all about your system, download and run Everest Home from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/everest.html
