RedSiren, an outsourced network security company has signed a letter of intent with Atomic Tangerine (former operator of Security Portal, a great security site) to purchase the maligned security consulting company. The name of the combined companies will be RedSiren Technologies and will greatly expand the industry-leading expertise and capabilities of both companies world wide. There was no mention of the fate of Security Portal in the press release.

I published this because myself and others involved in the IT security field remember Security Portal as a top notch security information site. I was also always impressed by the knowlegable staff of Atomic Tangerine, their wonderful site and their logo-"Atomic Tangerine: Because it really IS rocket science".
I wish all the best to them in their new endeavor.
