For some reason, since i installed Firefox on my computer, I have can't connect at all with Internet Explorer - although - this may be coincidental?

I connect using ASDL Modem, and have never had any problems before.

A message comes up:

Page Cannot be displayed blah blah, and at the bottom, 'cannot find server or DNS'.

I have done:

(1)I followed all the Instructions re: enabling 128 bit security, ticked the check boxes for SSL, TLS settings e.t.c
(2) Done the IPconfig command and Pinged the hell out of my PC. Internet Connections Fine.
(3) Punched my Monitor thair.gif
(4) Cried with Frustration - boo hoo!!!! cry.gif
(5) racked my brains smiley- confused.gif
(6) Checked for updates/repairs on Microsoft - replies with 'you have up to date version'

Nothing works. When I use ADSL, for some reason it goes through the LAN connection from home, and I was wondering if this makes a difference?

Firefox works perfectly; i need to use I Explorer to view some video files.

Presently this is me angryfire.gif
I want this to be me keybrd.gif

Hy Hayden, welcome to SAF biggrin.gif

In theory, Firefox install may not change your connection settings. First thing to try is a system restore to a point just before the problem started, even if you need to reinstal FF afterward.

??? If you are not able to browse since you installed it, how do you know it works fine ? rolleyes.gif

You may also try to "repair" your lan connection (right-click your local connection/properties and try the "repair" option...

Sorry, I didn't explain properly. Thanks for your reply!!

Internet Explorer was working okay, then I decided to instal Firefox as a few people said it was far better. I started using Firefox, but for some reason I couldn't play some Video Files - i was then told that firefox sometimes plays up with certain video files (no images display), and I'd have to use Internet Explorer - that is when all these messages come up.

I have been told that Firefox is unlikely to have tampered with Internet Explorer.

I'll follow your instructions.

Is there any program that can do a check?
