Ok heres the problem one of my friends dumped this crap box on me and now I'm kinda obligated to fix it lol. All it does is just boot up and the harddrive light on the front (its yellow) stays on. Nothing shows up on the screen and the ring of light that goes around the power on button doesnt work, and in fact you cant even turn it off with the power button you have to pullt he plug:(. Now this mourning I scanned his harddrive in one of my other comps and didnt find any viruses just tons of spyware which I removed. I tried booting it up again and the same thing happend. Anyone got any suggestions?? Personally I think he needs a new mobo., but I could be wrong.

Hi brianlawler3, welcome to SAF
Does it shows the POST screen ?
Have you tried to reset BIOS to the factory defaults using the proper jumper to clear CMOS or removing the battery for 20~30 minutes with the computer unplugged from the wall outlet ?
Are all the fans running ?
Any beeps on startup ?
This may have a lot of causes, not only the mobo...(PSU, Memory, BIOS, etc...)
