Hello

My PC(XP) is being accessed by many users. I dont want to shut it down at any time. So I want to write a script or program so that whenever someone tries to shut-down the machine, system shoud give warning and ask for confirmation message. If user clicks OK, then only should system take shut-down.
Is it possible ? And if yes how to do that?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Pawan,

When someone shuts down XP in effect it does what you want. You first click Start, then it give you three options and shut down is one of them to click. Do you mean that you want a password in order to shut down?

Hi ranchhand

Actually my PC is used by many users. Not necessarily everybody will be knowing that it is being used by other users also. So it should tell user that 'you want to shut down the machine but it is being accessed by other user also and do you really want to shut it down'. It should be like a reminder.

Thank You

You can try this freeware:
QUOTE
Shutdown Stopper prevents Windows from shutting down. Great for stopping those install programs from automatically shutting down your computer. Even the Windows Start Menu Shutdown command won't work when shutdowns are disabled. It also comes with the ability to launch programs when a shutdown attempt is detected.

Also, there are others you may try at http://www.snapfiles.com/downloadfind.php?...h&lc=1&action=s
