Hi there, a couple of months ago I switched my internet/e-mail connection from a 56k dial up modem to a 1meg broadband connection. Everything is great except for ever since I did this i am unable to send e-mails from outlook express. I can receive e-mails no problem.

I do remember having select the various host servers, and I have checked this, but still it won't work. I keep getting a 'pophost' error message. Could this be anyhting to do with IP addresses?

I hope you can shed some light on this!

Thanks

Hi Paul,

This is normally caused by a firewall or proxy wrong setting.
Try disabling any firewall for a while to see if it works.

If you are browsing behind a proxy, you need to set it to allow your mail servers to pass.

Some Anti-Virus also needs to be properly set to allow pop mail accounts to work.
Try to shut down the AV for a while.

There are also some incompatibilities between some AV programs and Firewalls, but normally you may have some warning messages about.

Do you only have the New Email account setup from the new ISP or did you leave your old mail account setup? If so, delete the old account.
