International companies claim combatting Internet viruses costs a whopping $1,000,000,000,000.00 (yes, one TRILLION dollars). Two thirds of all companies were affected by viruses during the past year with at least 15% of them falling victim to DoS (denial of service) attacks during the same period. The report collated the responses of 4,500 security professionals, whose experiences helped calculate the costs involved in security breaches worldwide.
