Hello:

Hopefully this is the correct forum. I had 2 hard drives in my PC.
HDD1: C-drive (NTFS) & D-drive (FAT)
HDD2: E-drive (FAT) & F-drive (FAT)

I was running windows 2000 and had some problems so I decided to format. Before I formatted the actual C-drive, I went to my desktop, right clicked my computer and selected "Manage". In the manage snapin I went to "Disk Management" And formatted everything in HDD2 both E-drive and F-drive. I then rebooted my PC and booted up using a windows 2000 CD and formatted my C-drive and resintalled windows.

The problem is that I now found out that I need a file that I had in my old F-drive from HDD2. Is there a way to get it back? Is there a piece of software that I can use to get it back? more specifically is there a Norton piece of software that I can use to get it back? if not any other would be good. I'd really appreciate any help as I do not want to lose that file. Any advice would be appreicatted.

If you haven't done any, or at least, very little writing to the disc since the format, then the entire partition can be recovered easily. There are several programs for doing this. Two of my favorites.....

R-Studio - restores entire partitions or individual files.

Acronis Recovery Expert - recovers entire partitions.
