Full Version: Servers aren't shown in Lan games

For some reason I can't see any Servers in most LAN games. If I play in the internet though, I can always see the servers. Usually I can connect to LAN games over console, but not all games have one and at big LAN partys I'd have to run around and ask everybody for the server IP he's playing on.

Some games show the servers though (C&C, GTA2, NFSU2)

I installed a diffrent version of WindowsXP+ and then it worked for a whilr, but now the problem has returned. So I guess it's a software problem. But it's been a while since I was on a LAN party and I've installed lots of software since then. I can't remember installing one that has something to do with the network though.

My Networkcard is the Onboard of the Asus A7N8X

Hi [FX], welcome to SAF

This problem is mostly related to firewall settings, eventually with Windows services.

If you are using a third party firewall (ZoneAlarm for example), try to shut it down. If game works, you'll know that it's a setting issue.

If you are using Windows built-in firewall you may need to authorize some games on the "exceptions" tab, as shown below
