I have a laptop, running on Win 2000 supplied by my company that is password protected and I cannot install any software or change any settings; I also have a personal desktop PC running XP.
I have a broadband connection with a router to which both machines are connected and a suitable printer driver for my HP Deskjet is installed on both machines. The desktop is connected to the printer.
Is there a way that I can print from the laptop without having to keep disconnecting/reconnecting the printer cable to the machine from which I wish to print?
Thanks
Zenith

Yes you can but because of the above you won't be able to.

Hi Snowsride, welcome to SAF
Zenith is right. You must have the password to change settings on your system, or ask your IT admin to do that for you.

You may be able to ease the pain of switching cables by purchasing a printer selector switch.
