Hello,
I am new to builiding computers however I managed to build one from scratch.
It runs fine as far as I know however I need help on my CPU.
I am running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 with an ASUS A8N MoBo.
When I enter windows, it tells me that I am running my CPU's FSB at 800.00
and my CPU speed is at 2211 Mhz.
I know that my AMD chip specs say that the FSB is 1GHz.
So my question is, why does it show on the system that I am running at FSB 800?
Is this correct with some wierd math or do I need a tweek on this?
If I need a tweek, where in BIOS can I adjust it and what is the number I should pick? (i.e. 100, 133, etc....?)
Please help!!

Hi Maxwell-5000, welcome to SAF
I am not specialized on this, but I Googled it and found this answer on other forums, about Athlon 64 X2:

| Even though the actual speed shown on the motherbaord's BIOS settings is 800 MHZ, its effective speed is 1600 MHZ (800+800). |
Your ASUS A8N motherboard have som overclocking features, but I do not recommend you try them without asking more details on overclockers forums, as it may damage your CPU.
Maybe some other member here can add something more ?

Thank you for your help.
However, your are correct in saying that it had 800+800 as this is a duel core chip.
So my next question would be, since its duel, should it not by 1000 + 1000??
I just want to get the most out of my chip while I can. lol
