Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between a 3.0Ghz Pentium Celeron and a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4?
Ironbender
Hi enner100,

There are a lot of differences on technology between them, such as architecture, cache, and so on, too hard for me to explain here, but you may take a look at the Intel product specs below:

http://www.intel.com/products/processor/pentium4/
http://www.intel.com/products/processor/celeron/

If it's not a matter of price, you may choose the P4 processor.

Maybe some other member will pop here and give you a better input on this, as my English knowledge is too basic to try to go deep on explaining that biggrin.gif

The Celeron is more of a budget orientated cpu it really depends as to what you will be using the computer for and what your expectations of its capabilities as to whether it will matter if you purchase a Celeron cpu or not.

Here go to this Link this should give you a much better idea of whether it is what your after or not, If your not buying one it will still give you a better understading of the difference.

Edit: I recently had to wipe a mates sytem with a (p4 3Ghz cpu the rest of the system wasn't poor quality parts either) and reinstall everything and going from what was in my sig I found it slow and slightly irritating smiley- yes.gif
