Don't know if this is a XP issue or a General. Didn't happen with my old ME computer.
Tried a search, but I believe my search words are to broad.
My question is, is there a way to get rid of my name being associated with cookies and websites when I go online? I don't mind my IP address being associated or even just my last name, but for security reasons I don't like to see my whole name anywhere on my computer. Email and even folders use my name.
I guess the company I bought my computer from entered my name while entering my windows liscense (I guess thats where it is from).
Can I change this anywhere with out loosing paths or messing up my windows license? What would be the best way to do this?
Thanks!

Hi woodeks,
Not sure I understood your question, but, as I posted just before, try this:
To remove the Stored User Names and Passwords from your system, Click Start, Run and type Control keymgr.dll
Remove the entries from the list.
1. From Internet Explorer, choose "Tools" then "Internet Options".
2. From the "Internet Options" multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, select the "Content" tab.
3. Click the "AutoComplete" button.
4. Uncheck everything.
5. Click the "Clear Forms" button.
6. Click the "Clear Passwords" button.
7. Press "OK" to close the dialog boxes.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunatly I guess what I'm looking for is:
There is a folder in my C:\Documents and Settings.
This folder is named "bob smith". All of my cookies go into this folder and all of the cookies end up being automatically named: "bob smith@www.website[2].txt (this is an example).
I cannot change this folder's name. If I try I get a message saying : "bob smith is a windows system folder and is required for windows to run properly. It cannot be removed or renamed".
If it is possible, How can I re-name this folder, OR is it possible to change the "thing" that puts "bob smith" in the cookies name?
Thanks!!

Hi woodeks,
You can not rename this folder c:\documents and settings\bob smith, as it's a system folder based on your user account preferences. Cookies are stored on a subfolder named "cookies" and may be deleted normally.
If you want to get rid of having your name associated, I think you'll need to change your account name. (not sure if there is some issue related to the name of your machine, typed during Windows install, but will google it)

If that's all you want then ironbender is correct. Whatever your XP login name is will be that folder name.
Go to START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - USER ACCOUNTS
Rename your account to something you can live with.
