Lately my Broadband Cable connection is continually trying to reconnect to the internet. Use to take me 2-3 boots to have my computer find the internet. Lately it is continually disconnecting and reconnecting even when the computer is shut off. I can tell because the modem Comcast provided gives off this high pitched tone when it is connecting. I've been unable to find any adjustment to the volume. Right now I have the modem disconnected manually because it was doing it over and over and over again. (So, I'm using my office computer instead).
The other problem I'm having the last couple of times is simply logging into my computer, even without the internet. I keep getting the following error:
A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:C001545A
Can you help this ongoing rookie?
Thank you!

Hi TheRobRobRob,
Are you using McAfee virus scan ? (there are some issues with it trying to connect)

Thanks, I will give the OE link a try. I'll see if I can get on my home computer and follow the link. I'll let you know.
Duh, I forgot on the the virus protection I'm also running Zone Alarm.
Thanks!

Check the Settings/Options on any program that would access the internet, starting with IE, Internet Options, Connections . Then ZA, your firewall, spyware/adware guards, etc.
