| kind of depends on the files in question: Most types of computer files are fairly redundant "meaning" they have the same information listed over and over again. File-compression programs simply get rid of the redundancy. Instead of listing a piece of information over and over again, a file-compression program lists that information once and then refers back to it whenever it appears in the original program. try winzip or winrar and see how it handles them. |

| Hello! I am trying to copy a 1.1 GB programme to a disc. The disc has only 700 MB of space, how do I compress the file size to get the programme on the disc. I think I need the programme on one disc because I have to install all files together. Or is their another way to do this? Thanks, Steve |
