When I boot my computer, it stays on for about 5 minutes then just abruptly powers off without warning. Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this or repair it?

Check to make sure all fans are running.Sounds like you might have a heat problem.

Just out of curiosity, have you protected your system against the new worm? Here
I know 2000 is the most vulnerable. But there are instances of XP
