Is the message about this .dll an error message or is the .dll file itself missing ?
If it's missing or corrupted, you can download it from here: http://www.dll-downloads.com/hosts.asp?fil...le=fnfilter.zip
If you do not have an install disk for it, the latest drivers, utilities and patches for your Olympus Camedia c370 zoom can be downloaded from http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/d...nload/software/

i have installed the disc and everything on it and nothing comes on the screen at all so i tried going to scanners and cameras and tried to add from there and thats when the message comes up (the file fnfilter.dll was not found)
Ironbender
Aug 8 2005, 07:14 PM
Ok... adding scanners and cameras from the device manager may be tricky if you do not know where the proper .inf files are...
At Olympus website (link posted above), there are proper patch files and drivers/utilities. Download them to a new folder. Go to your add/remove software, uninstall the previous Camedia softwares. Go to device manager and remove any cam you have tried to install and is not working (it will probably have an exclamation mark on it). Install the new drivers/softwares from the folder you created. Do not connect your camera until it's done. You probably will be prompted to reboot. If not, connect your camera (power on) and reboot.

Hi milly,
In theory, your OS must recognize your c-370 as a mass storage device and pop with a new folder on Internet Explorer as soon as you connect it to any USB port and power it up.
There are no known specific issues about this cam and Windows Millenium, so it's probably a driver issue... I am wondering if that .dll file you named before is not the culprit, although there is very few references to it.
You can try to download and install it, but I suggest you create a restore point first.
I had many problems with all the digital cameras my family have unless I acquired a USB card reader. Your c-370 use a XD card, that USB card readers deals perfectly with. (it's a very cheap solution and works on any computer I tried it)
I will scout around more deeply and post back later. In the meantime, maybe some other members here can help you on this.

I forgot to say that... some of my old programs did not run anymore on Win XP. (I reinstalled successfully two over 4 of them but found another new version which runs and definitely lost only the oldest)
All this didn't affected me soo much, so I never remember it
The overall advantages are better than some few inconveniences.
It also took me some days to set it up as I wanted, but it works fine now.
Are you now able to play with your camera pictures ?

yes lol but im having trouble loading software its coming up error 1311 ???? lol also similar error comes up when i try to put autoroute in as well

1113 error is "source file not found". It may be a corrupted media...
What software are you trying to install ?
Is it Microsoft Autoroute ? It is 100% compliant with Windows XP...

Don't panic milly
Just say what you have doing just before it happened. Please give all details and, if possible, any error code or message on this blue screen.
You may also try to boot in safe mode (by tapping F8 on boot) and do a system restore to the point just before. (It will probably prompt you to select "last good -or working- configuration").

| QUOTE |
| A mini dump is a tiny 64K-byte file. One reason it's so small is that it doesn't contain any of the binary or executable files that are in memory at the time of a system crash. The .exes are needed for full and proper crash analysis, therefore, mini dumps are of limited value without them. |
When XP system crashes for any reason, it tries to dump files from memory to the hard disk.
You should be able to reboot in safe mode and restore the previous configuration... some Windows updates may causes crashes, mostly if it loaded and tried to install some corrupted file.

Aug 10 2005, 03:26 PM
milly, file nv4 is part of nVidia videocard stuff. It seems that your system is having problems with your videocard.
A faulty videocard driver may mess all your system, so, try to reload motherboard/chipset/video drivers and mVidia videocard ones before trying to install anything.
If you are not sure about what have messed with your system, try a restore point on july 9, before 03:27 pm.

how do i do this (reload motherboard/chipset/video drivers and mVidia videocard ones before trying to install anything.)

Ironbender
Aug 10 2005, 05:12 PM
Ho milly,
Just pick your original motherboard disk and install all the stuff
Windows normally try to use standard drivers, unless you install others.
When you purchased your computer, the vendor must have provided a disk (CD) with all chipset drivers and utilities.
If you do not have it anymore, please post your motherboard make and model and we will try to find the proper drivers.

Hi milly,
Your motherboard probably works with a VIA chipset. Under "System model", you'll find something like this: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8363
Please post it back
Under "Multimedia", is the onboard sound chip: VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM)
It may be useful to know yours.

Uncheck "Turn off system restore" box.
Win XP pro have only this box to be checked/unchecked, XP home I'am unsure.
If you have enough disk space, it will turn on and let you create a restore point.

If you are using a PCI sound card, you must download the proper audio codecs and disable AC97 onboard sound at your BIOS settings.

milly, I tried to search ES1371 drivers to download, but all sites I entered were paid sites or malwares ones. Unfortunately, the Creative website has no references to your sound card.
I'll scout around for drivers, but I've never seen that.
Maybe some other members can solve this ?

milly, I can not find any drivers for those references... but, Creative website have a "autoupdater" that can detect your soundcard and download the proper drivers for it... I do not know if it works, but I think it will not hurt if you try it
Please try this url
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ and click on autoupdate link. You'll probably will be prompted to authorize cookies and ActiveX scripts to run, accept them, because it is a reliable site.

it also says i can search manually but i dont know what im looking for

Yes... so, it works
Some components may be corrupted. And if we do not know what exactly is your sound card model, we will not be able to manually search for drivers...

Aug 11 2005, 06:16 PM
Yes... sometimes
Normally, you can access BIOS settings by hitting "Del" key on boot (before windows load)... on other systems, you may hit other keys... It's reported on the first (POST) screen... hit "???" if you want to access setup
You may be aware that, if you change some critical setting on there, your computer may not boot anymore, so, just search for "onboard sound" and cahnge it as you want (this is not a critical setting).
Chris...
by the way, I need a holiday too... saturday, I am going to a biker's meeting 50 miles from here, and I'll be back on sunday

Will drink a lot of cold beers

and sleep on the beach
