I recently installed the IEEE pci card however it gives me a code 10 "device cannot start" error now, any suggestions?

Hi bobx,

You must provide more details about the problem you have.
Some issues will be related to drivers, mobo, OS and so on.
If there is something we can do, we'll try to do it.

Please post back with further details.

well, its just a generic no name brand pci firewire card, i have an intel d865gbf motherboard, i tried the card on every pci slot and got the same result code 10. there were no drivers with the card, just in a box, with some bundled software. if there is anything else you wanna know ide be happy to post it.

Thanks

im running XP pro with sp2 btw

It's a driver issue,

OR

It's an SP2 issue, as there are known problems between firewire and SP2,

OR

It's an IRQ issue,

OR

It's a junk card.

If the installation of the card causes startup problems, the card is either bad or incompatible with your computer.
