I have an ABIT KT7A Raid motherboard running an AGP NVIDIA Riva tnt video card. A friend has let me have for a good price a PCI 64 MB NVIDIA geforce card which is not top of the line by any means but is an upgrade from my current card. Can I run this card on my system? I have tried to switch cards out but will not boot. I then looked at the bios to see if there was an option to disable AGP video first but I only see a few settings in bios related to the AGP video. I am not sure if I can run this card any help.

Thanks!!

Actually, you can have both types installed, and run both at the same time. Do you have the most recent drivers for both cards? Remove the PCI card, and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, make sure you remove the eraser dust, and put it back in, making sure it is making a good connection. Are you sure your friend didn't sell you a lemon?

A lemon? Maybe? but I have not paid for it yet just seeing if it works ok. If it does then I can pay him.

Thanks ill try that.

Hi just_a_nobody, welcome to chaos lol.gif

That remembers me the glorious times of (very) old (and huge) IBM cards, which we used to clean just like this biggrin.gif ...and it still works !

The eraser might be a white soft one lol.gif
