I have a Linksys modem that has 2 desktop computers connected to it. One of the desktops connects fine to the net but the other one won't connect. It just keeps searching and then says Page Cannot Be Displayed. Everything was working fine earlier. The one that works has XP and the other is 98SE. I have tried everything i know and can't figure it out. Can someone help?

Thanks
Chris

Hi tal08, welcome to SAF and excuse for the delay on reply.

This kind of issue is tricky to solve remotely...

You will have to check all your lan settings on the system that does not work, and, if you are running some kind of firewall on the XP machine (as I suppose is the connection system), it is not blocking the access from the other system (as WinXP have some security features that may do this, mostly after some significant upgrade).

Chris.

PS - It is also possible that your Win98 machine has been infected with some malware.

Hey Tal

I Think what you need to check is if your WIN 98 SE machine is configured right.
Is the Linksys acts as a router also, or is the Xp Machine dose the routing?
