Will there be any real difference between the present SATA I HDD and the heralded SATA II...the new ones have a supposed data transfer rate double the speed of the older SATA I, or is it too early to tell...ie. as yet..general software and hardware advances/improvements

The extra data transfer rate is "burst speed." Most people don't "burst" more than 66...
