Does Windows XP not give us the option to Scan Disk?

I would like to scan my disk before defragmenting, but can't locate...

Right-click the drive in Windows Explorer and select Properties, then Tools. It's called 'Error Checking' at the top of the page.

XP calls it "Error Checking". Open My Computer, right click on the "C" drive icon and select Properties. It's on the Tools tab.
