I am needing some help. Any help would be awesome. I am trying to get on one website, which I was able to get on until last week. Everytime I try to log in it takes me back to the log in page. I have gone to the tool bar in IE and changed the cookie setting, I have done a virus check, I have talk to an AOL tech, I have emailed the website, I did a quick restore on the computer, I have done everything possible. Yes, I have been typing in the correct password and log in. Is there anything else you can assist me into trying. I am going crazy, and this is making me looney. Oh, I am able to log in to the site from another computer.

Any help would be great,

Hi Mkaleokalani, welcome to SAF

Have you tried to delete all cookies (<Internet options/delete cookies>) and all off-line content ?

If the site you are trying to log in uses JavaScript to perform that, maybe your Java or ActiveX settings are wrong ?

Have you any pop-up blocker active ?

Edit: If you can log in from another computer, maybe you can compare the settings between them...

I have done the IE. How do you check the Active/Java Script.

Thanks,

On <Internet options/security/internet zone/custom level>

Microsoft VM > medium security level

Allow META REFRESH >active

ActiveX plugins and controls:
1 - deactivate
2 - active
3 - active
4 - active
5 - warn me
6 - deactivate
7 - deactivate

Scripts: Activate all

On <Internet options/Advanced>

Tick (activate):
Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0

On <Internet options/Privacy/customize/advanced>

Tick "Ignore automatic handling for cookies"
Primary cookies: accept
Secondary cookies: deny (block)
Tick "Always allow per session cookies"

(descriptions may be slightly different as my OS is in Brazilian Portuguese, but I have no problems to log in on any account aywhere).

Hope it will help,

Chris

thair.gif Well I did what you said, and still no stinkin luck. I wish I knew what was up. I am trying to do everything in my power to fix this. IF you have any other suggestions let me know. I will continue to try. I will not give up until I figure this out.

Thanks,

Just some dummy questions...

You can not log in only on one specific website ?
Are you using AOhell browser ?

It may be a server error, or a browser issue. Some AOL browser versions are not compatible with some JavaScripts routines. If your website have migrated to a new log routine, it may be incompatible with your browser version.

have you tried with IE6 and latest Service pack or another browser ?

keybrd.gif I have tried to download IE 6 but I can't find where do to that. When I go to microsoft website to do it, I can't. How do I download it. Yes, I am using AOL.

Was wondering could it be the ports. Just curious.

I was wondering how do you find the specific cookie that relates to the site. What about ports? I am willing to try anything. So if you have a suggestions, please let me know. Read previous topic...Internet.

Mkaleokalani, please stay on your previous topic. If you start this new, you will confuse other members and answers will not be tracked. You do not have to care with cookies, as the Internet options have cleaned it yet. Your problem is quite different and if you be patient, we will solve it. rolleyes.gif

Don't think so, Mkaleokalani... quite sure it's an AOL Browser issue related to JavaScripts.

have you downloaded IE6 SP1 ?

If you are looking for a cookie on your harddrive you need to look in the temporary internet files folder. It's under C:/Documents and Settings/Your Name/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files

You will need to see "hidden files". Let us know if you don't know how to do this.

Now once you get to the right folder you can sort by site address or file type to find your cookie.

**edit**

Saw Ironbender's post and merged these two for clarity.
