Full Version: Registry Problems I Suspect
Suggest A Fix PC Support Forums > Operating Systems > Windows XP

I am running Windows XP and I think I have registry problem I need to fix. When I am in my email program, (it doesn't matter which email program I use they all do it) the Network Password box keeps popping up. I have checked "remember password" and clicked ok a bazillion times and it still does it. Now I can receive email but not send from that computer. I need to fix this before I kill myself. LOL
I mainly use Outlook 2003 but I tried Outlook Express also and it did the same thing. I have 4 sticks of 512 mgs of ram. My hard drive (I have two) on the master is 120 gigs I believe.

I think there is a corruption or something somewhere in the register and I have searched and searched in Microsoft but guess I don't know what the heck I am looking for.

Yes this computer has been on a router with another computer but right now it is not. Hasn't been for a while. It is a linksys router.

Also I was trying to install a font manager program last night and it would not install...says there is a 16 bit windows NT problem. This registry is KILLING me. I keep telling it I BUILT that computer - I brought it into the world and I can TAKE IT OUT. LOLOLOL

Thanks for your help!

Of course everything is in the registry but i'd gamble that you have some little gremlin's in there causing nasty results. I'd suggest going thru this:

Hi Kathy,

Sounds like you have two different problems there.

Far as the error message you are getting, try reviewing THISto see if one of the references is the problem you are experiencing.

If your computer was on a router before and is now connected directly, are your Internet LAN properties and mail accounts settings not pointing to a wrong gateway or proxy ?
