What client are you using? Outlook tends to block potentially dangerous extensions.
They could also be bad formats. I think we'll need to know more about what the images are and what program you are using.

Need more info. Are you talking about pics within internet explorer?
If set to "high security" or if active x is disabled, active x pics will not display.
Some security programs may disable active x scripts as well.
Post where you cannot view the pics, O/S, security software, etc if the above does not answer your question.

When there is a picture in the body of the email itself, the graphic file might be located on a server or attached to the email.
If your computer is not online while reading the mail, the pictures will not load from their internet server location. Sometimes this happens if the server receives a lot of traffic or if it is down. Try logging off the net, rebooting, reconnecting, or waiting for the server to come back online.
If the graphic is from a web site it may be blocked by your firewall or security (like Norton shield) program.
If outlook is blocking potentially dangerous files or attachments, you can solve this by clicking <tools/options/security> and uncheck the second square box (do not allow opening dangerous files, ore something like this). Verify if the first button (internet zone) is checked.
