My daughter has a a problem with her PC. You can see the desktop which is black and all the icons. But when you click on an icon to open the program or page it seems to be transparent black or is behind the black desktop if that makes sense. In other words if I right click the mouse to select properties and change the view (desktop) I can't see what I am opening although I know it has. Any clues?

Hi mildew, welcome to SAF

I never heard about something like this... sounds like some virus action eeeeek.gif

Tried to reproduce this on my desktop, but no joy... black screens are normally found when you boot to safe mode or if you have the "high contrast" settings enabled on <Shift+Alt+PrintScreen>

Are you using some reliable antivirus ?

Are you able to run HijackThis on her system ?

If yes, please open a new topic on "Malicious codes" forum and post the log there.
