hi!
I've been having kinda the same problems as the guy above, just its logging off. When i try to logoff or turn off my pc, it just has the desktop picture open for about 20 mins, and then it comes up with an error saying it could not complete the logoff and it has had a major error. So now i can only turn it off with button, but as said above, its not too good for pc.
Thanks

There is one thing that sometimes works and might be worth a try and that is to go into hibernate rather than shutdown, this sometimes works, but bear in mind my pc also has a rather stange low temperature problem as well. Tony

I have no experience with this and have never heard of it before. However, if there is a problem with Roxio, check on what is being loaded into memory on boot. Sometimes these proggies load useless things. For example, Nero loads "In CD" into the system tray all the time, and all it does is check if anything is inserted into the drive and Nero pops up. So all I do is take it out of the loadup on boot. Possibly Roxio has the same deal and it is not unloading at shut down. Check the RUN hive in the register to see what is loading from Roxio and kill it. See if that helps.
The only direct reference I could find on this problem is

dave.... this is a problem commenly known on windows 98... its the 1st time ive ever seen it on windows XP you should go to microsoft.com and look for a Windows XP Shutdown patch they may not have one... if they dont use the Windows 98 Shutdown patch.. that should fix your problem.
