over a Missguided Experiment edition gone bad (if you can imagine).
It read the files ect, getting ready to set up, butt now it's saying "windows could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a valid widows CD. Please insert one of the following disks: XP home (full), XP pro (full), win 200 pro, ME, win 98 (ect.)"
Obviously her ME is so messed up, that windows doesn't even think she has it.
Here's what I have to work with, ME full, and XP home full, both belonging to someone else. For licensing purposes, the XP home is in use, but not the ME. Not a big deal, because I want to install her (legal) XP home upgrade over whatever I use.
I found out ME doesn't like to reinstall on systems that have IE 6 on them because it includes 5.5 in the install (stops at 65%). and I'm not sure if I should try the XP home version (no longer in use) that came with a Dell.
Knowing I am going to install her XP home upgrade over it, which software should I try first?

OK, I tried the ME disk, butt it wouldn't install.
The XP home full, disk said it would be a second operating system, and recomeded installing it on a second partition.
So basically XP upgrade says I must install a full version, and XP full says it will be a second OS. What's that about?
I don't want to lose anything, so I guess I'll have to slave the drive, and copy it's important files, before messing with it further.
