This is a denial of service (DoS) warning for users of Trillian chat network v0.6351 and possibly other versions A denial of service vulnerability was reported in the Trillian chat/instant messaging application. A remote user can send a message that will cause the application to crash.
It is reported that sending a long instant messaging line to a recipient who is using Trillian can cause Trillian to crash.
There is no solution at this time.

However, there's an upside here: (a) if you get Dos'd, you'll have a chance to quit yakking and get back to work ("Sorry, getting DoS'ed here. Gotta run!") and (b) maybe some people will learn to express themselves better with less words! Pete

This is very reminiscent of Icq in the early years with Trillian being relatively new. Why it's daunting to shore up the defenses for Trillian is because it is compatible with so many other protocols.
