My computer is giving me problems when I try to scroll on a web page. Instead of flowing nicely, It's jumpy and hesitating. I guess if can be classified as freezing up. Sometimes the mouse pointer won't move like the computer is frozen.

Is there a setting somewhere or a scan of some sort that can be done to let me know what exactley is going on?

Hi pantango, welcome to SAF

Please be more specific... Windows uses to freeze without any reason... (sometime it will be NECESSARY to reboot it (after letting it quiet for about 60 seconds). Are you using AntiVirus, Firewall and other security stuff ? (it may be some days to someone reply you, but this is a sunny week-end here (in Brazil)) lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Please post your system specs and wait... there are some crazy but wise people here that may solve your problem keybrd.gif

thx for the welcome iron bender

Ok, I do have a firewall and anti virus that was just added.

zone alarm is the firewall and norton anti-virus is the other.

Im not a real good at computers but I can tell you I have 127 gigs free of hard drive space and 512 megs of ram on my computer. I'm not too sure on the clock speed, but the puter is almost 2 years old.

I have windows xp professinal for operating system.

lol.gif Norton AV is a pretty good software, but I've had some bad issues with it (normally, I recommend to get rid of it, as Brazilian users does not understand English and aren't able to set it correctly)

Norton AV security shield is the problem (not necessary related to yours), because it takes control of your system and just treat you as a dummy lol.gif

It sounds to me like your system is using more resources than it can handle, but it's only a thought - think something is running on the background, which may be a spyware/malware... try running MSCONFIG and report what processes are running or being loaded.

Please wait for more advices.
